There are a few sites in Kaunas old town, corresponding to the town land plots, which were newly planned at the beginning of the 15th century, and in which the marks of the earliest buildings have been found. One of such sites is the location of building no. 10 on Vilniaus St. situated on the eastern corner near the street. According to the archaeological research, the first wooden house with wooden half-cellars on this site has been dated to the turn of the 14th and 15th century. Above the joist ceiling, on the ground floor, there was a heating stove with pot shaped tiles. There were more buildings along the street that were constructed from the beginning of the 15th century, and there were signs of active manufacturing activities uncovered as well.
