The Kaunas of the first half of the 17th century was largely Lutheran, thus Jesuits were not particularly welcomed there. Andriejus Skorulskis’ family and the childless Petras Šiukšta’s efforts laid the material base for Kaunas Jesuits, and the final addition was the decision of the Kojalowicz (Kojalavičius) brothers to hand their house to the Jesuits and to join the Jesuit Order.
